Year Letter Registrations
The following gives the years relating to the suffix letter of registration.
If you own a car registered in 1963 or 1964 you may not have a year lettered registration.
This seems to cause much confusion to those who try desperately to tell that they know more about
when your car was registered than you, the owner. I've only seen the explanation once but
here is the brief explanation; when year letter registrations came about many garages and dealers still had valid registrations
ready to put on the cars, they were allowed to use these for the first two years but when "C" reg came along all cars
registered had to have the year letter type registration. So it's quite possible to own a 1964 car with what looks like
a pre-1963 registration.
